Mélanie welcomes you in her distillery

Mélanie Bigeard-demange leaves in Moselle, 37 old native of Féy. Student, she continues a dessin-architectur-building training to obtain a diploma. Nothing predestinated her to become an distiller.
Nevertheless, it’s during her studies that she works punctually and as that seasonal worker for the harvest of fruits to the distillery Moncourt, in Marieulles-Vezon, a few kilometers away from at her home.
Her job searches in her branch living fuitless, she crosses more and more time to the distillery until assure the replacement of the secretary full-time.
It’s in 2005 when Pierre Maucourt evokes his wish to sell … In 2009 Mélanie acquires the distillery. She recognizes that "it’s Mr Maucourt who threw it and that learn on the ground was very formative". With her three jobs, arboriculturist, distiller and storekeeper, Mélanie is also a mum of three children full-time. A beautiful organization!
So, the production (tree planting, maintenance and fruit harvest - plums, pears, greengage …) gives way in the transformation of products (fermentation, distillation, refining, bottling bottles, labeling …) then in the sale and it’s Mélanie and her husband which assure the main part of activity.
But the parents of Mélanie help to the family company with a presence on workshops more and more numerous in Moselle and outdoor Moselle. As such, the distiller admits to be very requested "we could go out all weekends! She evokes her 5th participation in the “Agricultural show in Paris“. A beautiful showcase with customers whom she sees again year after year. The events such as the " Holidays of the cherry plum " or still the “market of the country “ of Sierck Baths are interesting events. And the labelling “eat mosellan“ add in quality to the fame of the distillery just like its presence in the Guide of the Backpacker and the successful price Publo Lorraine recently.
Within the distillery, Mélanie also welcomes groups for guided tours and tastings sometimes while requesting a guide of the Tourist office of Metz for the foreign groups.
Mélanie has this concern of the good to make and of the know-how which she puts in in the service of the customer and of the satisfaction of this one. She evokes nevertheless the possibility of a try towards the exoticism around the cherry plum … Coming up next!
